Did modified "double up" WOD from 2/29
150 DU's (new speed rope)
800M run
75 Push Press @75#
800M run
50 Toes to Rings
800M run
25 HSPU's
800M run
Time does not include my 150 DU's, i looked at my watch as I ran it out and to my suprise I hadn't actually started my time, but 27:02 was it. I think I did the DU's is less than 5 though.
@speed rope: this was my first WOD with it and I thought I needed to shorten the rope but I'm glad I didn't the length is great and I actually found myself jumping too high and spinning the rope too fast so that was great to be able to lessen the intensity fromm using my what feels like now 20# rope.
@grip savers or whatever they are called: Thanks for the sight, that's exactly what I was looking for and Laura got me some ordered today, so happy 4th anniversary to me for tomorrow!!!

@Kunkel: I totally forgot you did that DU/Burpee workout. I made the mistake you did, of doing that stupid wod outside. Did it at 7am, but still made sweat drip all over the place. Are your DU's any better?
@Rips: I got tired of doing pull ups and getting my hands ripped to shreds. So much that I bought a pair of these hand grips, probably to please my wife b/c she got tired of me with all these calluses.

I used them in the aforementioned workout posted above and had zero problems, and the grip helped a bunch.

AMRAP 20 MIN
18 Box Jumps @24
15 Toes to Bar
12 Kipping Pull ups
I had to stop at 5 rounds at 17:58 minutes due to my hands bleeding and all sorts of blistered. These weren't the worst I've had but by far the most painful. I think gonna have to get the monkey claws or whatever they're called. One of the contributing factors is that my pullup bar has a slick coat of paint, so the chalk doesn't stick to it at all.
Forgot to post on Friday but I rode just over 20 miles and averaged mid 18mph, not bad but my legs were sore prior to the ride.
@AJ on that DU and burpee WOD what did you think about the burpees? I did that WOD i think on 6/16 and it was brutal. I don't recommend doing it outside when its hot out. For me the burpees were the hardest part and the DU's did not help the shoulders going into the burpees.
@Caleb, He is great! Klint got to hold him again w/o Caleb crying. I for sure can say that Caleb makes me love Laura more than I ever imagined possible. I've been putting him through mobility WODs to get nice and strong!

rest 3 min
4:00 on the clock
30 box jumps, with remaining time as many wall balls as possible

@Kunkel: Happy late fathers day! Glad you got one of the speed ropes. You should be hitting triple digits with it soon, but yeah - long sleeves are a MUST until you can get 40 or so unbroken. Good job on the previous WOD, that one was pretty rough for me
Fun fact for the week: Don't know if you knew this but our previous homeowner had a dozen cats, and they linger in the neighborhood and hang out in our back yard. No one owns them, no collar, but the neighbors keep feeding them. We set up a (harmless) trap for them, and we've only caught one so far in a week. But, we've caught two possums and a raccoon. I live right in the middle of a ginormous neighborhood, no where near a forest or a large source of water. I use tuna as a bait, which I heard attracted the cats... and others.

From Yesterday:
Weighted pull ups
3x3x3x3x3
Stayed with a 35# DB the whole time. Pull up srength is seriously lacking.
EMOTM 12 minutes
1 Power Snatch
1 Hang Squat Snatch
1 Overhead Squat
115#
Felt easy and wasn't teribly tired by the end, probably could have gone 135#.
Then in the evening I did
"Nick"
12 rounds
10 DB hang squat cleans
6 hand stand push ups
29:26
Scaled a bit to 35# DBs and ab mat HSPU's. Very brutal, and doing 60 hspu's are mega tough.
@prayers: Spending quality time with the Lord. We've been struggling a bit in trying to get a routine going, and its mostly my fault because of summer time hitting and my entire routine being totally different. I'm sure once we get on track and adjust, it'll be time to start things up for fall. That, like every other prayer of mine, with leadership as a husband. I feel like if I devote time and effort into my relationship with Him, next is relationship with my wife, then everything else will follow and go as planned. Those are the two biggest relationships I'll ever have, and before I think about bringing someone into this world, I should really focus on strengthening them.

@fatherhood: Congrats on going from "dude" to "dad"! So happy for you guys. My prayer for ya'll is you seek God's will for your family and you continue to remain the spiritual leader; not only as a husband but now as a crossfitting father.
@coaching: Finished up my shadowing and my "probation" for coaching CF classes, now its official - I'm a certified CF coach for my box. Need to constantly be reminded that I didn't take this job to earn more money, save up for whatever, or pay off anything... first and foremost its to glorify Him and let Him be shown in my coaching, my relationships with my clients, and co workers. Try to hold me accountable to that, or at least pray for me in that regard! If you guys are ever in town, PLEASE hit me up for a workout, I'd love to show you the gym!

"CALEB" WOD Caleb, in honor of the birth of our son!
Buy in: 44 hours of labor, including walking around the 6 bed hospital floor for 2 hours, obgyn doc breaking the water, strong contractions and then finally an epidural. Rest for 1 hour c section delivery where I got to witness the birth of our child into this world, absolutely unexplainable!
Overtime: 48 straight hours of changing diapers, feeding, celebrating with family and friends, crying with such joy for all reasons, every new experience was extremely significant from Laura and I praying together over him as we gave him the name we felt the Lord had for him to bathing and feeding him for the first time, and all done with virtually no sleep. The best part is even when we are exhausted and running on borrowed energy we can't help but stay awake and watch him sleep! Caleb means bold and warrior: to me this is fitting because Laura fought with all she had to keep him as safe and healthy as possible from the moment we found out he was created to the moment he was delivered! Now she continues to be fearless as she feeds and nurtures him around the clock! I couldn't be more proud to call her my bride! Also Caleb is fitting because we pray that he will be bold in finding Christ and hopefully in his faith one day fighting to save the lost and ultimately to love Fod and love others victoriously!

Squats: Worked up to 250 for a set of 3.
21-15-9
Wall Balls
Toes to Bar
Didn't time.
Yesterday, did Kunkel's WOD from about a week ago.
5 rounds
25 push press @ 75#
50 double unders
Only did 4 rounds, very upset with this. I used a different jump rope and my body just wasn't prepared for this. Several lashes on my back and attempts to break my jump rope by throwing it after failing attemps, I stopped at 4 rounds after like 13 minutes. Just wasn't feeling it. Hats off to Kunkel for not only completing it, but also dominating it.
@God story: So exciting for you guys right now! You guys are going through some awesome stuff and I can't wait to hear about how God will use you through parenting, and how He will mold your heart and relationship through having a son. One of the coolest things too is that you guys have a great attitude and mindset about it - by wondering what God is preparing you for. Taking that active approach is really inspiring.

@murph: if my pull up bar woudln't have been in the shade I would have died! Again i used the tactic of as soom as I would stop on pull ups or pushups I would do that many squats.

Last Sunday bike ride not as a father!
25 and some change, total time: 1:27:20
Avg. split- between 17.5 and 18 mph.
Today was a brutal ride, first 17 plus miles were in a 90 degree stiff cross-wind, then next 4 were direct head-wind and remainder were tail-wind.
@God Story: believe it or not the bags are packed, house is in order and we are patiently awaiting our sons arrival!!! What were again learning is that this entire process is in his hands and will take place the way he has planned. Afterwards, no matter the outcome we can only ask, "GOD what are you preparing us for?"

@leadership: I like it I was curious as to how that info would be portrayed. For me I think my pride is so corrupt that being told I'm eying in the heat would frustrate me further. However, when Laura give me criticism she patient,y waits for the convo to pass before giving me feedback. Hope that makes sense. @reading: that's awesome, Do you feel like you got a better historical view of the chronologicaled events? (I feel like Klimt using these big words). I often struggle with comprehending the old testament in general so for a few years I just stayed away from it but I've learned it's there for a reason so like the Crossfit approach, I'm trying to strengthen my weak spots!
@reading idea: our church has started a program where they send out a daily devotional money through Friday and first they worked through mark and then phillipians and now going through genesis. I have all of these in a work document if anyone wants them.
@warrior conditioning: definitely not about me, i stumbled upon it trying to find a WOD that I could do that was attributed to a fallen soldier for the memorial day week. Here's the sight though: http://warriorconditioning.blogspot.com/p/bad-ass-wods.html?m=1
@kb: nope I have to us a DB.

"Nutts"
10 handstand push ups
15 deadlift @ 250#
25 box jumps @ 30"
50 pull ups
100 wall balls
200 double unders
400m run w/ 45# plate
23:22
Thought this would be absolutely impossible, but really the worst part was the double unders. Usually those are decent for me but I couldn't string together more than 20 to save my life. I'm definitely taking Saturday and maybe Sunday off... this week has been rough!
@Warrior conditioning: I did a quick search on the net for warrior conditioning, never heard of it but nothing resembling what you did came up? Is that just what you call your personal journal? haha :) I will have to try that one soon. Do you have an actual kettlebell or do you use a DB?
@Reading: It wasn't exactly within a year, but I just finished reading the bible from Gen-Rev, and I was curious what ya'll do and if it was efficient. There are times when I would simply be reading words on a page with little comprehension, but overall great experience and hope to do it again in a few years. Right now I'm reading the autobiography of Dave Grohl, but once that's done its back to Godly material
@Leadership: "I know you're trying." Probably helps that one of my love languages is words of affirmation.
